A Somatic & Ocean Journey in Sri Lanka
With Žan Perko & Angelina Borisova
An immersive retreat where water, body, and ancient landscapes open a doorway into deep presence — and into meeting whales not only with the eyes, but with the whole nervous system.
The Essence of the Journey
Meeting the Whales is a living, embodied journey into the waters and wisdom of Sri Lanka.
Somatic practices, water therapy, freediving foundations, and cultural immersion prepare participants to meet whales and dolphins through attunement, presence, and inner listening.
This is not an experience to consume, but a field to enter — where the nervous system slows, perception refines, and contact becomes relational rather than observational.
The Three Pillars
1. Deep Cultural Immersion
We explore Sri Lanka through sacred landscapes and living traditions, including:
A guided visit to the Vedda tribe, one of the island’s oldest indigenous peoples
The Royal Botanical Garden, ancient Buddhist temples, and sacred sites
An Ayurvedic village with a vegetarian cooking masterclass
Traditional dance performances, tea plantations, waterfalls, and iconic locations such as Sigiriya Rock Fortressand Dambulla
2. Water & Somatic Practices
Water is the heart of this journey.
The program includes:
Aqua therapy & Watsu
Ocean Dance
Somatic and psychosomatic practices
Musical and voice work
Freediving as meditation
All practices are offered in a trauma-aware, paced, and embodied way, supporting nervous system regulation, emotional integration, and inner spaciousness. Optional detox preparation and Ayurvedic treatments are available.
3. Whale & Dolphin Encounters
Sri Lanka is one of the world’s most powerful places for cetacean encounters.
The surrounding ocean is home to 26 species, including blue, humpback, fin, sei, and sperm whales, as well as orcas. Large dolphin pods and sea turtles may also be encountered.
Encounters are approached with respect, sensitivity, and attunement — allowing space for resonance rather than performance.
